I get really tired of fiddling with Avery Label templates in OpenOffice, and now there is a great resource that has it all done for you.
Check out the OpenOffice.org Label Templates (Asia & Europe) at World Labels. There are other label templates for other regions as well, so enter above and click the links. Great […]

I received the following question:
I used to insert a landscape style page in a document of portrait style pages and then re-continue using portrait pages. How can I do it in open office?
There are a number of ways to do this, usually involving setting your own page formats. One quick and simple solution is described […]

The easiest way to do this is to use inverted commas with the statement to be tested against within the inverted commas.
The syntax is: COUNTIF(range; criteria)
The range is the range of the cells that you want to count (B2 to B21 in the screen shot provided).
The criteria is the requirement the range is to be […]

Word count can be found in two ways:
File –> Properties, then click on the statistics tab
OR
Tools –> Word Count
The other useful application of this tool is to select the text that you wish to analyse, then select Tools –> Word Count to find out how many words in the selection.
Good luck with your work!

I have been asked by a client to send them a generic invoice template. I have put together the template below, which is designed for services (it doesn’t include a ’ship to’), and is very simple.
Additionally, the Totals are all calculated automatically, and the formulae in Column H should not be changed if you wish […]

I have created a calendar template in Calc for a client.
The dates are automatically calculated. You only need to amend the first Sunday to achieve the date range that you need.
Download the file FREE from the following link:

I have a number of clients who initially have problems understanding the page breaks within OpenOffice. In Microsoft Word we usually insert and then delete using the delete key or backspace.
Page breaks in OpenOffice do require a little bit more fiddling, but once you understand how pagebreaks work, then, in my opinion, you will find […]
