Hi,

I am emailing from the UK. Happy New Year!

I use Lotus 123 like your friend and do basic macros but have a problem.

I was wondering if you could help.

I want to generate a LIST of random numbers NOT JUST ONE.

For example a column of 100 numbers requesting a random number between 1 and 100.

So I end up with a list of higgledy-piggledy containing all numbers from 1 to 100.

I don’t know what commands to put in the Lotus 123 macro to acheive this.

Can you help or suggest anything.

You could also try something like http://www.ooanywhere.com which allows you to use the OpenOffice.org suite of programs (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Base) on any computer without installing directly on your local computer. You can use the suite at your local internet café, at work or on any computer on which you can’t or don’t want to install the suite. It worked for me but they’re still clearly in beta.

This might answer your dilemma – another alternative might be to run OpenOffice on a USB stick.

No you won’t lose your MS files (assuming you mean all your doc and xls files). If you are worried about losing them – make a copy on a thumb drive and save prior to uninstalling – just a good idea anyway as a backup.
