I don’t usually post as many links posts within a week, however these are too good to miss! Enjoy!
- odt2Braille – The release of odt2braille by the Belgian university Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, has brought the ability to work with Braille to OpenOffice.org. The extension adds a “Braille” menu to OpenOffice.org’s Writer which allows users to translate documents into Braille formats such as .brf or .pef or send the content to Braille printers for embossing.
- A workaround for OpenOffice.org Draw selection export to PDF – In the current version of OpenOffice.org 3.2, there is still a problem with selection export to PDF in Draw program — the result pdfs always have page dimension of the drawing (A4 or letter) as its paper size (fig. 1). For printing, this is fine, but annoying if you want, for example, include the graphic in a LaTeX document. Phan’s blog has a workaround.
- OpenOffice.org Suite: A Convert Explains His Conversion – Larry Mike Garmon has switched to OOo and this post catalogues his reasons why!

My name is Stephanie Krishnan and I'm passionate about the way that open source software and its community can help small businesses and individuals with their productivity and lives. One of the biggest arguments I get from business owners, however, is lack of support options. I decided to put together my own support blog to help people be productive at various levels with one of my favourite open source alternatives: OpenOffice.org! I do this through tutorials, downloadable templates and answers to questions from readers!
